Anonymous said: Is it really a rivalry with Miami after winning the title in 2011? 2006 is a distant memory.

I mean most Mavs fans hate them on principle, but idk if it’s cause they’re Miami or cause they had LeBron. I hate Miami with or without him so I consider it a rivalry, lol

I think even without ol’ Bronnie the rivalry will still be there. Need I remind you of the 06 Finals? Plus they still have Wade and Bosh so yeah. It’s not a rivalry with Lebron, it’s still a rivalry with Miami.

As for Houston, Cuban and the Houston front office have been trolling eachother all offseason, and we happened to come out on top of this one, imo, so I think our games with our two fellow Texas teams will be all the more interesting this year.

Will always have a strong rivalry with Miami, LA, and SA. Houston more has a rival with us than we do with them.

What adds to the Mavs-Rockets beef is that on top of Harden’s ‘role players’ comment after the Parsons offer sheet went unmatched, it was announced Howard actively tried recruiting Jameer Nelson, who eventually spurned him to join the same Mavericks team with the aforementioned $15M per year role player.

This is after influencing the breakup of his Orlando squad in which Jameer played PG and telling the media he had to carry the Magic “with a bunch of guys nobody wanted”. The irony is anything but subtle.

The plot thickens, hue hue hoho ho

(aka this is good drama to set the tone before we wreck their shit this season)

Oh yeah I have been following all the drama but I ain’t worried about them at all. We will destroy them on the court as per usual the past 8-10 years. I think they have become obsessed with us and try to make this more into a rivalry but we beat them in 05 the last time we played them in the playoffs and if we did next year we would just embarrass them again. Howard should have come to Dallas but whatevs we got Chandler back!
