Mavs Fans For Life
What even is happening right now? Ugh. I want to go to bed. I need us to put this game away.
Rough start, but we warmed up. Looking pretty good now.

Mavs lead 24-23 after 1.

Fun fact- the Mavs are 19-5 when leading after the first quarter.

So excited to see Sean Williams playing. I don’t miss Brendan Haywood. Sorry not sorry.

And I still love Steve Nash. Forever and always.

Can the game just start already…? I’d like to go to bed sometime tonight.

Steve Nash glad Mavs won the NBA title
One person who was very glad to see the Dallas Mavericks win the NBA title last season was Steve Nash.
One of the more popular players in Mavs’ history, Nash cheered from afar as the Mavs beat Miami last June in six games to capture the franchise’s first NBA championship. Close friends with forward Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd, Nash now plays for the Phoenix Suns, but will always have fond memories of his days toiling for the Mavs.
Nash describes what the Mavs were able to accomplish as “amazing,’’ as he had fun watching them knock out the Heat.

Thoughts:
Our bench is beast. We outscored the PHX bench 51-21
SO NICE to see Odom come alive.
Loved that we made it rain in the 3rd quarter, even if the 4th got a little sloppy.
I see you, Vince Carter. I see you.

I’m so conflicted. I continue to love Steve Nash.

Lol just kidding. I love you Nash but Go Mavs.

Mavs worried about Suns’ scoring potential

With their abilities to do a myriad of things to score points, the Phoenix Suns are accustomed to presenting a very big challenge for any team.

But the usually free-wheeling Suns are only averaging 91.8 points per game, which is just 23rd in the NBA. Still, Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle is concerned about a club that, in the past, posted 100-point games on a regular basis.

“They’re a very sophisticated skilled team,’’ Carlisle said after this morning’s shoot around. “We know what they’re capable of, and that’s one of the challenges about tonight.’’

The Mavs (2-4) will host the Suns (2-3) at 7:30 tonight at American Airlines Center.

Even though the Suns are shooting just 41.5 percent form the field and 27.8 percent form three-point range, Carlisle is worried about their potential and the pressure they put on opposing defenses.

“Transition defense is always big, pick-and-roll defense is big, and then the three-point shot is a big part of their attack,’’ Carlisle said. “So we’ve got to do a good job in those areas.’’

Vince Carter comes to Dallas

When he is signed, Carter could add needed scoring punch at the wing. He can play either shooting guard or small forward, a position that can be rather interchangeable in coach Rick Carlisle’s offense. The two-guard spot is crammed with Rudy Fernandez expected to join the team soon, Jason Terry, plus Rodrigue Beaubois and Dominique Jones, but both the latter two youngsters will also be used in a backup point-guard capacity.

Carter is a shooting guard/small forward coming to us from the Phoenix Suns.
